HEMATOLOGIC PARAMETERS OF THE ADULT CASTRATED ANGORA GOAT POSTQUARANTINE.

Abstract

Most of the reports in the literature on the hematology of the domestic goat do not indicate the breed. A large group of castrated adult male angora goats were studied. This is a report of some hematological values for these animals based on samples taken after a 30-day quarantine. The values obtained are very closely related to those reported for the goat of unspecified breed. The only significant differences are that the percentage of lymphocytes is lower and the percentage of neutrophils is higher, reversing the usual neutrophil:lymphocyte ratio. (Author)
