A COMPUTER PROGRAM TO COMPUTE OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC PROBABILITIES AND ACCEPTANCE SAMPLING PLANS FROM THE POISSON DISTRIBUTION.

Abstract

A computer program to determine the mean lambda, of a Poisson distribution for given values of Probability (P) and Number (N) is described. The Newton-Raphson method was implemented to solve the resultant non-linear equation. The output which is in a format than can readily be bound consists of tables of operating characteristics probabilities and acceptance sampling plans. (Author)
