HELICITY REPRESENTATIONS OF THE COORDINATE, MOMENTUM, AND ANGULAR MOMENTUM OPERATORS.

Abstract

The report presents certain new mathematical techniques useful in the analysis of upper atmospheric chemical processes. Non-relativistic systems of particles always have among their dynamical variables the operators Xi(i = 1, 2, 3) which characterize the position of the center of mass, the operators Pi which characterize the total momentum of the system, and the angular momentum operators Ji. In the present paper all te operators were found which satisfy the quantum mechanical commutation relations. Various bases are discussed and representations of these operators are given in these bases. Applications to scattering theory are discussed. (Author)
