STRESS CONCENTRATION WITH FATIGUE LOADING.

Abstract

The fatigue strength reduction factor was experimentally determined for various steels: St 42 K, Ck 60, 30 CrNiMo8 and 100 Cr 6. Different deliveries of the St 42 K were fatigued in the following conditions: as-received, stress annealed and soft annealed. The chemical composition and the mechanical properties of the materials were determined and axial fatigue tests performed at room temperature with a frequency of 2000 cpm and 500 to 700 cpm respectively with cylindrical smooth and circumferentially notched specimens. The results of the tests were analyzed with NEUBERs theory of stress mean value. In addition the test results were compared with other methods of the precalculation of the fatigue strength reduction factor. (Author)
