SIMULTANEOUS DIFFERENTIAL THERMAL-MASS SPECTROMETER ANALYSES OF NITRATE SALTS OF MONOMETHYLHYDRAZINE AND METHYLAMINE.

Abstract

Simultaneous differential thermal-mass spectrometer analyses of low-pressure decompositions of the nitrate salts of monomethylhydrazine and methylamine were investigated. These products are commonly found as intermediates in the incomplete combustion of N2O4-monomethylhydrazine bipropellant motors. Compositions of the evolved species were correlated with differential thermograms over the entire temperature range until decomposition was complete. A total of 11 identified compounds were tabulated with respect to their concentration ratios. (Author)
