ANALYSIS OF CORRELATION BETWEEN FREE-AIR ANOMALIES AND ELEVATIONS,

Abstract

Extensive regression analyses have been made in 25 1 degree x 1 degree blocks with observed gravity data and corresponding elevations. Statistical hypotheses tests were attempted for making a decision when localized elevation correlations obtained through the least-squares solutions should be used instead of standard Bouguer coefficients in the prediction of free-air anomalies.
