A METHODOLOGY FOR FLOOD PLAIN DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT.

Abstract

The report presents a methodology by which the consequences (mainly economic in nature) of choosing various flood plain management alternatives may be evaluated so as to achieve a stated set of objectives. The methodology is commonly known as a trade-off analysis. It is illustrated by two case studies, one for the Reno, Nevada area, and the other in the Tuscon, Arizona area. (Author)
