SOME LUMINOSITY CHARACTERISTICS OF A DECAYING DISCHARGE PLASMA IN CESIUM VAPOR,

Abstract

Spectroscopic investigation of the anomalous behavior of the luminosity of a decaying arc-discharge cesium plasma. The anomalous nature of the emission of the spectral lines is attributed to the combined effect of the intrinsic monotonic emission of a given excitation level and the complex nonmonotonic emission associated with the population of the level due to cascade recombination of the atomic cesium ions in the plasma.
