THE EFFECT OF GROOVE-EDGE SHARPNESS IN RAYLEIGH STEP-BEARINGS (COMPRESSIBLE FLOW).

Abstract

The performances of some bearings with various amounts of step degeneration have been tabulated and compared with the performances of bearings with perfect steps for compressible flow. In general, performance is only slightly affected by step degeneration.
