COMPUTERIZED SURVIVOR SEARCH PLANNING

Abstract

A computer program is presented which solves the search planning problem for survivors at sea. The program is designed to utilize weather data. An investigation is also made into the search criteria used by the United States Coast Guard in its planning procedures. Guidelines are given for the use of the square search and the Sector search.
