INSTRUMENTATION FOR RECORDING A SEMI-LOGARITHMIC PLOT OF TWISTING CYCLES VERSUS STRESS FROM A MULTIAXIAL FATIGUE TEST,

Abstract

A composite plastic half ring specimen is subjected to a fixed rotational displacement for which a semi-logarithmic record is automatically obtained for a 10,000 twisting cycle range. Three multi-level stepping switches are arranged to record the maximum stress for 23 preselected cycles on a X-Y plotter. A manual control is also available to record the stress for any other desired cycles. (Author)
