RADIOLOGICAL INSTRUMENT DESIGN INVESTIGATION FOR OCD.

Abstract

Circuit and electronic component design for Office of Civil Defense radiological instruments were studied. Three, transistorized, dc-to-dc converter power supplies were designed and test results are reported. Two electrometer amplifiers were designed to operate on these converters, and their theoretical operating time on one standard D cell is 500-3000 hr. Other activities reported are an investigation of integrated circuit techniques and their compatibility with circuit design, radiation effects on semiconductors, and an evaluation of D cell kits and a comparison of their capabilities with commercially manufactured cells.
