RECOGNITION OF A LIMITED SET OF SPEECH SIGNALS,

Abstract

A description is given of the algorithm based on the correlation method of recognition. The following three basic stages are noted: (1) the preparation of a description based on an assumption that the controlling factor in indentification of noises, syllables, and words is the dynamics of the filtering system of the human voice tract; (2) the procedure of training involving the development of standard descriptions of the class; and (3) the procedure of recognition. The criterion of recognition is based on the description of voice signals by means of current weighted autocorrelation functions, on the criterion of the minimum Euclidean space and on the assumption of the statistical model of the description of classes. The results of the experiments conducted on a digital computer are presented.
