ELECTRICAL EFFECTS FOR A NUMERICAL CLOUD MODEL.

Abstract

The report discusses the various atmospheric electrical effects that will need to be considered in a numerical model of mountain-induced cumulus clouds. The principal dependent variables to add to the model are the large and small ion concentrations, the cloud and precipitation charge distributions, and the electric potential. Secondary dependent variables are the charge per unit volume, the electric field, the conductivity, and the current density. Typical values of these variables are given for initial conditions and boundary values of the model.
