STUDIES OF SCATTERING OF ELECTRONS FROM ATMOSPHERIC ATOMS AND MOLECULES.

Abstract

The results of studies of scattering of electrons from atmospheric atoms and molecules are presented. They contain a discussion of the feasibility of the experiment and a description of the apparatus. Basically, the apparatus consists of crossed, pulsed electron and neutral beams with pulse counting detection of the scattered collision products. The experimental studies include helium and molecular nitrogen. (Author)
