OPTICAL GLASS,

Abstract

Optical glass having a low tendency to devitrification contains 26-30% 7.B2O3, 26-29% La2O3, 29-32% ZnO, 5.5-6.5% SiO2, 1-3% ZnO2 and 5-10% Ga 2O3. The glass may also contain not more than 2% TiO2 and not more than 5% Nb2O5. The glass is melted by induction in a platinum crucible. Its coefficient of refraction is between 1.71-1.76 and its coefficient of dispersion between 50.0-44.6. (Author)
