EVALUATION OF A PROBABILITY DECIDER,

Abstract

A statistical decision function that requires at least seven consecutive successes, or eight successes out of any nine trials, from a sample of twenty trials is described explicitly as an algebraic function of the probability of each trial. The effectiveness of a device that uses this function to make decisions, a 'Probability Decider', is evaluated and compared with two similar 'Deciders' for selected values of p, the probability of success on each trial.
