A PROPOSED ADDRESS RECOGNITION SYSTEM FOR DESTROYER MESSAGE COMMUNICATIONS.

Abstract

An address recognition system is proposed for use on destroyers and other small ships. This proposed system is designed to be completely compatible with current fleet broadcast teletype communications methods and uses components, subsystems, and devices readily available off-the-shelf. The address recognition system is designed to search the fleet broadcast for messages addressed to own ship or unit. Only those messages addressed to own ship or embarked commands are printed out in the ship's communications center. A complete broadcast record is available if needed. (Author)
