SOLAR ELEVATION, DEPRESSION AND AZIMUTH GRAPHS.

Abstract

Graphs are presented which allow the angle of elevation or depression and the true azimuth of the sun to be computed to within an accuracy of approximately 1 degree at any latitude and time of year. Alternately, the time at which the sun is at a given position can be computed within approximately 2 min. The graphs can also be used for planets and stars with declinations of less than 30 degrees. For the moon, significant errors will arise unless parallax corrections are applied. (Author)
