RESEARCH IN SEISMOLOGY.

Abstract

A microseism frequency and amplitude tracker has been designed, analyzed, constructed and tested in the laboratory. The microseism tracker demonstrates that it is possible to construct a wide band frequency tracker at microseism frequencies. A relationship between the auto-correlation and cross-correlation of noise in seismic arrays has been obtained and tested using noise data from LASA. The impedance and radiated displacements of a wide band, seismic modelling theorem has been derived starting from seismic reciprocity. Babinet's principlefor elastic waves has been derived using the seismic representation theorem. (Author)
