A SPECIAL PURPOSE COMPUTER FOR SOLVING THE TRANSPORT PROBLEMS OF LINEAR PROGRAMMING,

Abstract

A laboratory model of a specialized computer for solving m X n equals 10 x 15 transport problems is described. It has 600 transport-branch analog circuits, 80 power supplies for modeling production and consumption points, the distances between points are modeled by voltages of 0-10 V, the production volumes are modeled by currents of 0.2-30 mA, and the consumption points by currents of 0.2-5 mA. The error of a plan does not exceed 3 percent without refinement of the solution or 0.5,the solution or 0.5 percent with refinement. The maximum dimensions of problems m X n equals 10 x 60, 15 X 40, and 20 X 30, where m is the number of production points and n is the number of consumption points.
