A HIGH SPEED PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDY OF CAVITATION BUBBLE COLLAPSE,

Abstract

The objective of the investigation was to determine the relationship between the form taken by the collapse of a cavitation bubble moving near a solid surface and damage to that solid surface. The movement of a collapsing bubble, collapsing with spherical symmetry toward a solid wall was analyzed assuming a potential flow field, and using the method of images, programmed on an analog computer.
