THE ENERGY BUDGET AT THE EARTH'S SURFACE: A SIMULATION OF NET PHOTOSYNTHESIS OF FIELD CORN

Abstract

A crop of corn was treated as a random array of leaf elements. A mathematical model was developed which expressed the net photosynthesis rate of an individual leaf as a function of the light flux density and CO2 concentration at the leaf surface and the leaf temperature.
