DISTRIBUTION OF SLANTABLE CONSTRUCTION.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to develop a method of determining locations and descriptions of new construction anticipated in a sample Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA) over the period 1970 to 1980. The method first established the state of existing construction by means of a field investigation; then projections are made with the use of trend curves developed from recorded data. Structure plan areas, total areas, and basement areas are presented for various categories of buildings. Methods are also presented for extending this technique to other SMSA's or the entire nation, depending upon the desired degree of refinement. (Author)
