DUCTED PROPELLERS--A REVIEW AND DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT INVESTIGATION,

Abstract

The paper describes the past theoretical and experimental work on ducted propellers. Also included is a discussion of the limitations of these past investigations. Since the ducted propeller is used parimarily for low speed applications (i.e., deep sea submersibles, tugboats and VTOL's) the theoretical and experimental development for low speed and static conditions is obviously needed. A description of the current and proposed theoretical and experimental investigation for these conditions is presented. (Author)
