FLIGHT TEST AND EVALUATION OF AIRBORNE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM. VOLUME I.

Abstract

The report presents an evaluation of a time-frequency/collision avoidance system. The report is in two volumes, which contain a description of the Collision Avoidance System hardware, methods of testing, data acquisition techniques, analyses of data and a presentation of the resulting Collision Avoidance System performance. From the report it can be seen that the concept is valid, that the equipment under test did provide suitable warnings and commands to pilots, and that these warnings and commands led to the safe avoidance of potential mid-air collisions.
