WEAK INTERACTION AND THE BREAKING OF HADRON SYMMETRIES.

Abstract

A recent paper (AD-705 546) proposed a dynamical relation among weak, strong and electromagnetic interactions, on the basis of a self-consistency condition which requires that the description of hadron physics remains unchanged by the effect of leading weak corrections and electromagnetic tadpole effects. The main results of the approach were a relation between the weak interaction angle (theta) and the symmetry breaking parameters, and the appearance of a non electromagnetic breaking of isotopic spin. The present paper presents a review of the whole theory putting a particular emphasis on those aspects which do not require explicitly the use of the self-consistency condition.
