ENHANCEMENT OF AN EXPERIMENTAL COLOR DISPLAY PROCESSOR.

Abstract

The work was primarily to improve the performance of an Experimental Display Processor developed under a previous contract. A capability was developed to display up to 1000 inches of line drawing at a 30 cycle refresh rate in a 9 x 9 inch area using any combination of 4096 colors and hues. The equipment includes a core memory, a list processor to take data from a computer and/or other input devices and make display lists in the core memory, a display processor which interprets the display lists, and a color CRT display which is controlled by the display processor. The unit also has a black and white display processor sharing the same core memory. The same or different data may be displayed by the two display processors. (Author)
