MULTIPLE DECISION (SELECTION AND RANKING) PROCEDURES AND MULTIVARIATE DISTRIBUTION THEORY.

Abstract

Research on selection and ranking problems and multivariate distribution theory has been carried out on several aspects of the problem. The significant results obtained relate to univariate and multivariate populations using parametric as well as non-parametric procedures. Some work has been done in the area of sequential selection procedures under the subset selection formulation. Also a beginning has been made for selection from populations which are partially ordered in some sense with respect to a known population G. A few results have been obtained using a decision-theoretic approach to the problem of selection and ranking. Currently the attention is being focused on the construction of decision rules under certain 'optimality' conditions. All these problems were examined under the subset selection formulation.
