A STUDY OF WEAKLY NONLINEAR DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS AND THEIR STABILITY.

Abstract

Previously obtained mathematical results for the nonlocal behavior of dynamical systems have now been extended and applied to problems of physical interest. With the help of these results detailed study can now be made of large motions in the interior of vehicles undergoing high frequency vibrations. Other applications pertain to the study of semi-infinite domain attraction of almost periodic oscillations in systems performing monofrequency motions. Furthermore, new and simpler methods of analysis have been developed obtaining results more general than those of the standard 'method of averaging' for systems with 'fast' and 'slow' time. (Author)
