RESULTS OF OBSERVATIONS ON SALMON IN RIVER URA (Rezultaty Nablyudenii za Semgoi na r. Ure),

Abstract

The salmon fisheries in the estuary of Ura were almost as significant as the salmon fisheries in Varzina river, which occupied the first place among Murman fisheries. The Ura salmon has been systematically caught since the second half of the past century. At the present time the Ura school consists of about 1500 salmon and its fisheries are of great significance. Data on growth rate and distribution of salmon are presented.
