SEICHES IN THE CASPIAN SEA (O Seishakh v Kaspiiskom More),

Abstract

The analysis made it possible to find the upper boundary for the spectrum of periods of free oscillations of the Caspian Sea level. The greatest period appeared to equal 18 days. The paper points out that the most probable main period of free oscillations of the sea level must equal 12 hours. The determination of nodal lines is shown by examples; one of the lines, corresponding to the main period of oscillations of seiches, lies approximately in the Apsheronskiy Porog area. (Author)
