CALCULATING THE MAIN DIMENSIONS OF A SYNCHRONOUS GENERATOR FOR OPERATING INTO AN IMPULSE LOAD,

Abstract

An analysis is made of low frequency pulsed systems, in which the capacitor charge time greatly exceeds the action time of the free supertransient and transient currents, the effect of the electrical inductor circuits (excitation and damper windings) on the charge process is insignificant and the curve of the voltage increment in the capacitor can be approximated by an exponential curve whose time constant is proportional to the synchronous resistances of the generator. The main dimensions of the synchronous generator in a low frequency pulse system can be determined by proceeding from the necessary values of the synchronous inductive resistances of the armature winding.
