NATIONAL SUPPORT OF INTERNATIONAL PEACEKEEPING AND PEACE OBSERVATION OPERATIONS. VOLUME 5. BACKGROUND PAPERS

Abstract

The background papers in the volume investigate the national support experience in peacekeeping and peace observation operations undertaken by regional organizations and under ad hoc arrangements. These cases cover the experiences of the Organization of American States and the Arab League, as well as the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission in Korea, and the International Commissions created under the Geneva Accords of 1954. These cases afford an opportunity to analyze and contrast the methods of approach between the United Nations and non-United Nations operations.
