CRASH X: AN IMPROVED COMPUTER PROGRAM TO CALCULATE THE DYNAMIC ELASTIC-PLASTIC RESPONSES OF FREE, SINGLE-LAYER CIRCULAR RINGS SUBJECTED TO ARBITRARY SEQUENTIAL LOADINGS,
Abstract
A description of a FORTRAN II computer program (CRASH X) improved and with its capability extended over a similar one for a general numerical method for analyzing large two-dimensional elastic-plastic dynamic deformations of free single layer circular rings subjected to an initial impulse loading followed by an arbitrary prescribed distributed transient pressure loading is given. Program assumptions, arrangement, data input procedures and instructions, and program outputs are described in detail. To assist the user in checking the adaptation of the program to his computer facility, the inputs and results are given for a particular sequentially-loaded ring with elastic, strain-hardening, strain-rate sensitive material behavior (EL-SH-SR) and for dimensional and nondimensional versions of another sequentially-loaded ring of a material with elastic, perfectly-plastic material behavior (EL-PP).
