COLOR-VELOCITY METHOD IN MEASURING DISCHARGE.

Abstract

This is the first attempt by the U. S. Lake Survey in applying fluorescent dyes for measurement of the discharge in an open channel. The purposes of the tests were: (1) to become familiar with the instrumentation and the use of fluorescent dyes, and (2) to compare the results of the dye method with standard current meter methods. Five tests were run, with three being run simultaneously with standard methods. (Author)
