THE USE OF MICROWAVE OVENS IN THE SPEED FEEDING SYSTEM. PHASE II REPORT.

Abstract

An investigation was made of the use of microwave ovens as part of the U.S. Army's SPEED field feeding system. In Phase I, the general feasibility of meeting the cooking and baking requirements of SPEED with microwave technology was confirmed. In Phase II, the contractor has proceeded to develop design characteristics of the ovens and supporting equipment, and to resolve various problem areas uncovered in the first phase of the contract.
