PROBLEMS OF DEVELOPING MACHINE-BUILDING TECHNOLOGY (SELECTED CHAPTERS),

Abstract

The chapter presents background material, such as formulae, atomic diagrams, lab test data, before elaborating on the high strength properties of steel. High-temperature thermomechanical treatment and low-temperature mechanical treatment are discussed at length, drawing on published data dealing with various steels. Two-stage thermomechanical treatment is discussed. The chapter makes a fairly comprehensive review of the description, physical and chemical properties, and specific uses and treatment of light aluminum alloys. But here, as in Chapter 2, no or very little attention or acknowledgement is given to American and Western Europe's contribution in the field of light aluminum alloy research and development.
