MULTIPLE SCATTERING CORRECTIONS TO WAKE DOPPLER SPECTRA.

Abstract

The radiation transport equation is used to study wake Doppler spectra. To simplify the calculation, a slab geometry is assumed for the wake. When the wake is absorbing, little spreading beyond that of the first Born approximation is observed. For non-absorbing wakes spreading beyond that of the Born approximation is found for thick wakes. Multiple scattering corrections to the spectra seem to set in rather slowly as the wake becomes thick, however. (Author)
