A CASE OF MULTIPLE PARASITISM IN A SOOTY MANGABEY (CERCOCEBUS TORQUATYS ATYS).

Abstract

The case history and necropsy findings of a juvenile female sooty mangabey are presented. The monkey was parasitized by lung worms of the Metastrongylidae family, the larval form of the pentastome Porocephalus armillatus, the malarial parasite Hepatocystis kochi and the pancreatic fluke Brodenia serrata. The possible role of each parasite as a contributing factor in the death of the animal is discussed. (Author)
