SPECTRAL DIGITAL FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER,
Abstract
A new type of digital frequency synthesizer for communications transceivers in the VHF range from 30...76 MHz, providing 920 channels with 50 kHz spacing was designed, breadboarded, tested, and packaged. Wide use of integrated circuits was made. With this new principle, very low power consumption is achieved, typically 40 mW for the synthesizer (excluding the variable frequency oscillator and buffer amplifier). Dimensions (excluding frequency control knobs):1 in. X 1 1/4in. X 1 1/2 in. The circuit makes wide use of complementary FET-integrated circuits. The technology used for packaging is Thick Film.
