DISPLACEMENT BOUNDS FOR BEAM-COLUMNS WITH INITIAL CURVATURE SUBJECTED TO DYNAMIC LOADS,

Abstract

Elastic beam-columns with initial curvature and pinned or clamped ends are considered. An upper bound on the lateral displacement response to axial and distributed lateral loads is derived by means of an energy-type functional and some inequalities. The result is significant because of its generality. (Author)
