THE FORECAST SOUNDING PACKAGE.

Abstract

The forecast sounding package is an AFGWC transmitted forecast field of temperature, humidity, and vertical velocity. It has numerous applications in forecasting: severe weather, icing, precipitation, and terminal forecasting of cloud and visibility categories. An appendix describes the AFGWC trajectory model.
