SOLID STATE MILLIMETER WAVE SOURCES FOR CAINS.

Abstract

The state of the art of Millimeter Wave Varactor Multipliers, IMPATT and Gunn Effect Oscillators is reviewed. The relative merits of using these sources as the local oscillator in an aircraft mounted millimeter wave receiver are discussed. This includes a discussion of the basic limitations, the practical limitations, and the need for determining the device performance from the systems designers viewpoint. (Author)
