PLAN FOR DIRECTED DOD STUDY OF ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT OF EQUIPMENT SUPPORT (LONG RANGE).

Abstract

A study plan is presented for providing a recommended approach to investigate and determine alternative means of organizing and managing the overall function of equipment support. The scope of the study specifies that all equipment at all levels be included as well as all equipment support functions and all DoD management systems functions. The objective of the follow-on DoD study, for which this is the plan, is to provide for a system (1) for integrating management and control of those resources and activities required to perform the total equipment support function within each military department, and (2) to permit planning, programming, budgeting and execution of equipment support to be accomplished in the most effective and economical manner.
