PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY OF THE MAKRAN COASTAL PLAIN OF IRAN.

Abstract

The report contains preliminary results of a reconnaissance conducted during the fall of 1968 along the Makran coastal plain of Iran between Bandar Abbas and the West Pakistan border. These data constitute the initial phase of a project involving the physical geography of a desert coastal environment in a little known segment of the world. The study has two main gals; one to describe the Makran coastal region of Iran; the other to depict and interpret some of the physical changes that have taken place during the Quaternary Period.
