SURFACE WAVE PHENOMENA.

Abstract

An analytical method for characterization of piezoelectric materials for use as elastic surface wave devices is described. This method is used to design a prototype delay line. An apparatus for measurement of velocity and energy flow of surface waves on materials such as quartz and LiNbO3 is described. Measurements of acoustic radiation resistance and reactance, velocity, energy flow and harmonic generation are recorded. (Author)
