RESPONSE OF THE TRANSITION REGION TO INFALLING MATERIAL ASSOCIATED WITH SOLAR FLARES.

Abstract

The work is part of a continuing study of the solar activity that has a pronounced effect on our environment. The response of the transition region to infalling material associated with solar flares (often caused by the 'disparitions brusques', sudden disappearance of prominences) is considered and the possibility of examining the height and structure of the transition region from such a response is discussed.
