ESTIMATION OF LOCATION AND SCALE PARAMETERS UNDER VARIOUS MODELS OF CENSORING AND TRUNCATION.

Abstract

The report consists of five papers which are related by the fact that all apply to the estimation of location and scale parameters under various types of censoring of a sample and truncation of a distribution. All of the papers are applicable to the first asymptotic distribution of smallest (extreme) values. The first, fourth and fifth papers give tables for estimating the parameters of this distribution for specified models of distribution truncation and sample censoring. The second paper, an earlier version of which appeared as Rocketdyne Research Report RR 63-41, has been rewritten under this contract and included in this report because some of its preliminary results are used elsewhere in the report. The third paper generalizes the second and was written under the contract; both are concerned with best invariant estimation of location and scale parameters. (Author)
