AFETR PLAN FOR USE OF CALIBRATION SATELLITE FOR CALIBRATION AND EVALUATION OF RANGE INSTRUMENTATION.

Abstract

The report discusses both the technical plans and the management plans for ETR to use the NRD/ESD/SSD calibration satellite for study of the evaluation and calibration of range instrumentation. In addition, several other important objectives are: confirmation or improvement of survey locations of ETR instrumentation sites, training of operators at remote sites, and study of the feasibility of using satellites in evaluation of shipborne instrumentation. Since this is a feasibility study to demonstrate the usefulness of calibration satellites, the most significant results will come from the possible calibration of C-band radars, the evaluation of Glotrac, the study of error models and the improvement in E TA5
